Community Impact

$1.4 million in donations have been collected to support grants & scholarships throughout the Chelsea School District.
About
THE BEGINNING
In 1990, the Chelsea Education Foundation (CEF) was founded by Joe Piasecki, then superintendent of the Chelsea School District. The goal of the foundation was to provide funding for a wide spectrum of educational activities to benefit the residents of Chelsea. The CEF was to serve as a link between school, business and community to help strengthen Chelsea’s future. Contributions to CEF are given back to the school district through college and trade school scholarships and grants to innovative teachers and administrators.
THE PROGRAMS
Since 2001, the foundation has demonstrated a significant contribution to the school district. Over 59,000 students received benefits from the foundation's efforts and activities, over 815 grant programs were funded ranging from art installations and robotics to financial management, and over 1,130 scholarships were awarded to students with outstanding achievement.
In 2018, due to the generosity of our sponsors and donors, the CEF was able to fund a large district-wide grant for the first time. The North Creek Elementary MakerSpace is a place for children to practice innovation and work together in groups.

At Chelsea Education Foundation, we believe that receiving the proper support and guidance can transform an already bright individual into so much more. We are here to be that support system, and help Chelsea students reach their fullest potential and bring all of their dreams to life.

Give the Gift of Reading! Chelsea Education Foundation Book Drive
‘Give the Gift of Reading’ is a Chelsea Education Foundation (CEF) Book Drive to help fund grants to teachers requesting books. CEF has partnered with Serendipity Book Store, a local Chelsea business, to make shopping for the Book Drive easy and fun!
