Scholarship Overview

 

The 2023 C.E.F. Scholarship Application is no longer available.

Applications were accepted March 13 - April 7, 2023. 
Check the CHS Counseling Office website to apply for other scholarship opportunities.

Applications for all scholarships can be accessed online through the Chelsea School District Counseling Office. Chelsea High School Scholarship Website

Below are the scholarships currently available annually to Chelsea High School graduating seniors and/or current college students living within the Chelsea School District.

The Joseph Piasecki Memorial Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a Chelsea High School graduate in the current academic year

  • Pursue a degree or skilled trade at the post-secondary level

  • Essay Prompt: Describe the life experiences which have influenced your character development goals.

 

Chelsea Education Foundation Academic Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:​

  • Be a Chelsea High School (CHS) graduate in the current academic year

  • Pursue a degree or skilled trade at the post-secondary level

  • Demonstrate high academic achievement with a GPS of 3.0

  • Essay Prompt: Describe yourself and the future contributions you would like to make to society after attaining your educational goals.

 

Chelsea Education Foundation Community Service Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a Chelsea High School graduate in the current academic year

  • Pursue a degree or skilled trade at the post-secondary level

  • Demonstrate a high level of community service

  • Essay Prompt: Describe your contributions to the community.

 

Chelsea Education Foundation A.C.E. (Accounting, Computer Science, and Engineering) Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • A Chelsea High School graduate in the current academic year 

  • Pursue a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Engineering at the post-secondary level

  • Essay Prompt:  Describe yourself and the future contributions you would like to  make to society after attaining your educational goals.

 

The Jillian Lea Drow Memorial Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a current Chelsea High School graduate in the current academic year

  • Pursue a degree or skilled training at the post-secondary level

  • Essay Prompt: Describe an act of kindness, for which you have witnessed or you have initiated, that has affected your character development and your future goals.

The Chelsea Rod and Gun Club Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a graduating senior from Chelsea Public Schools

  • Have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average

  • Have completed an Outdoor Recreation Safety course (e.g.Hunter Safety, Boater Safety)

  • Have an interest in but not limited to hunting, fishing, conservation, the shooting sports, or other outdoor- related activities

  • Planning to attend a school of higher education

  • Planning to major in a Science, Conservation, Law Enforcement, or Teaching program but not limited to these specific fields

The Robert W. Wagner Engineering Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of the Chelsea School District

  • Pursue a degree in Engineering

  • Provide a current academic transcript (CEF to obtain if currently a Chelsea High School senior)

  • Essay Prompt: Describe yourself and the contributions you would like to make to society in engineering

 

The Judith Lynn Wagner Owens Teacher Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of the Chelsea School District

  • Pursue a degree in Education

  • Provide a current academic transcript (CEF to obtain if currently a Chelsea High School senior)

  • Essay Prompt: Describe yourself and the contributions you would like to make to society in education

 

The Mary Merkel Memorial Nursing Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Reside in the Chelsea School District

  • Pursue an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in a health related field. Students who are pursuing a degree in nursing will be given preference.

  • Essay Prompt: Describe yourself and the future contributions you would like to make to society after attaining your educational goals in a health related field

 

The Doris Schumacher/A. Henry Schumacher Memorial Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Have graduated from Chelsea School District and be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university

  • Have completed at least one year of schooling at an accredited college or university

  • Provide current academic transcript

  • Essay Prompt: Describe yourself and the future contributions you would like to make to society after attaining your educational goals in your field of study

 

Continuing Education C.E.F. Scholarship for Non-Traditional or Returning Students

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Not be a current graduating senior

  • Reside in Chelsea School District

  • Pursue a degree or skilled training at the post-high school level after an interruption of at least one year or more

  • Provide a list of volunteer and employment activities

  • Essay Prompt: Provide a statement of your goals regarding continuing education and employment, including what you have been doing since high school and why you are resuming your education

Note: Funds from this scholarship can be used for continuing education seminars but are not to be used for travel expenses or lodging

 

The Joel Gentz Memorial Leadership and Service Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a Senior at Chelsea High School, or have graduated from Chelsea School District and be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university (current college students will be considered first, but Seniors are encouraged to apply)

  • Provide a current academic transcript (CEF to obtain if currently a Chelsea High School senior), a high grade point average is not required

  • Essay Prompt: Write a brief description of your leadership qualities  and how they were used to complete a service project in the past year

  • Include one letter of recommendation written within the last six months; this letter should be a character reference (coach, mentor, employer, clergy, teacher, etc.) who speaks to the applicant’s leadership qualities and noting how the service project positively impacted others

 

Female in Finance Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a current Chelsea High School graduate in the current academic year or a Chelsea High School graduate who is currently enrolled at an accredited college or university

  • Be a person who self-identifies as female and intends to pursue a Bachelors or Masters degree in a financial field

  • Provide a current academic transcript (CEF to obtain if currently a Chelsea High School senior)

  • Describe herself and the future contributions she would like to make to society after attaining her educational goals in a finance related field

 

Chelsea Family Dentistry Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a Chelsea High School graduate in the current academic year

  • Pursue a degree in the healthcare field

  • CEF will obtain a transcript from CHS.  A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

  • Essay Prompt: Describe the life experiences which have influenced your character development goals

 

The Culver’s of Chelsea Scholarship

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a Chelsea High School (CHS) graduate in the current academic year

  • Pursue a degree or skilled trade at the post-secondary level

  • CEF will obtain a transcript from CHS

  • Demonstrate a high level of community involvement and “giving back”

  • Essay Prompt: Please provide a list of organizations and/or events that you have supported within the past three years.  Tell us why participating in them was important to you
